Who Says Healthy Can't Be Yummy!

I like choosing healthy foods, however, I also like to indulge in all things yummy!! 

This is why I've taken some of my favorite foods and put them together into a guilt free treat. 

Dark Chocolate; lowers high blood pressure, packed with antioxidants per Dirk Taubert, MD, PhD, from the University of Cologne, Germany. The Darker the better! Chocolates made in Europe are generally richer in cocoa phenols than those made in the U.S. 

**Remember to balance your calorie intake, don't replace fruits and veggies with chocolate...you know who you are. Even tho dark chocolate has healthy benefits you still need a balanced diet.

Peanut Butter; has fiber and protein that helps you fill fuller longer. It's got Vit E & Vit B6,  magnesium, and potassium. These are good for muscles and to give you energy. It has monounsaturated fat which is good for your waistline. 

Look for organic that hasn't added anything. Better yet find a place that grinds the peanuts right there and then you know what's in it. 

Buttery, Salty Crackers; I'm not going to make up what these might be good for, let's just say if you get a better quality of cracker, meaning, unbleached organic flour and so on you can get better ones than others. This is why I choose to buy from a source I know. Full disclosure...Ritz is more buttery and salty than the ones shown in my photo.

I got the crackers, and dark chocolate meltable at Whole Foods. My PB is organic from Aldi. 

As in the photo, you can see I melted the chocolate, made sandwiches out of the crackers and PB and dipped them in the melted chocolate. 

I rarely use the microwave, but I did to melt the chocolate. It was quicker and one dish to clean-up. 

I used wax paper to place the cookies on after I dipped them. 

Give them a try over the holidays.
