Have you noticed you are feeling weaker? Maybe as you're walking around doing your holiday shopping you are feeling more tired than you used to.
You can get your youth back in one easy step while you're brushing your teeth, talking on the phone, standing in line or even while you're washing dishes.
One easy step, how can that be? you ask. Here's the answer. Stand on one foot. Yep! that's it!! Just stand on one foot while you are doing any, or better yet all, of the things I mentioned above.
Maybe you are one of those lucky people who have a 'standing desk'. By standing on one foot you will become stronger that much quicker. It really is that easy!
Here are a couple of tips to be sure you are getting the most from it.
This is science! And it's not new knowledge. Mankind has known the power that words hold long before the written word. This subject has been studied by religious scholars, philosophers, and medical scientists. This might be one of the few topics that all of these forms of study can agree. And that makes it a Big Deal!!
Each of these schools of thought, though very different, all agrees that the words we choose to make into the stories we tell ourselves, shape who we are, how we act and ultimately our lives.
Below are a few ways of saying the same thing.
The thought manifests as the word,
The word manifests as the deed,
The deed develops into habit,
And the habit hardens into character.
So watch the thought and its way with care,
And let it spring from love
Born out of concern for all being
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
I am a true believer in living an Intentional Life.
What I mean by this is I know that I get what I ask for, not always in the exact package or way I had pictured it but I always get it. It might be hours, days or even weeks before I see it and I am sure there are things I've ask for and gotten but totally missed it when it was right in front of me!
Living an Intentional Life is not for the absent-minded. I have a friend who's tag line is 'manage your environment consciously or it will unconsciously manage you'.
What does this mean? For me, it means being aware of my Thoughts and Emotions. They are both equally important to having some control over what you get in life.
I've read many many books on, religion, quantum physics, philosophers... from modern and ancient times. Each one of them speaks about being mindful of our thoughts and emotions.
In short, they say think of your desire and feel as though you have it. Depending on how happy...
I was having dinner with friends last night when the conversation got around to 'cage-free eggs'.
Then it occurred to me that if everyone in our small group didn't understand the labeling on eggs than chances were many of us don't.
Once again we have to be sleuths if we want to get beyond those tricky marketers and their play on words.
Wouldn't it be nice if we just said what was true and weren't trying to trick people into believing something that isn't! This is a whole other topic!
Here's the scoop!
Cage-Free means the chickens who lay the eggs only have 1 square foot per bird, yes, you read this right...'they' can say cage-free because a 'cage' is typically smaller than one foot. I know, I think this type of marketing is a crime, but hey, they didn't ask me.
What you want to look for on the carton are words like Certified Humane and Pasture-Raised.
Pasture-raised hens are still contained but are given a much bigger space of earth...
Thanksgiving is all about the food and gatherings. Whether you are cooking or taking a dish to share you'll want to enjoy the process so you'll have fun during the gatherings.
Plan ahead! Planning early is your #1 tip for a stress-free day.
Making a list..well three lists... is the best way to get your planning started. Why three lists? Because you'll be eating more than dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
But before we get to the big day let's talk about the few days leading into this scrumptious holiday. As you are deciding what to have for dinner in the days ahead of Thursday think about making room in your refrigerator. If you are like me you like to eat leftovers, however, the week before you will be making such a large meal might not be the best time to have many leftovers. Or make sure you have eaten them by Wednesday to have the space you'll need to store the Turkey and fixings.
Now for your Thanksgiving Day food list. Many of us will be...
You will always have something yummy to eat for any meal if you have eggs in the house!
Today I was hungry at lunch but didn't really want to eat...you know those days where you wish you could take a pill or something like that to satisfy your craving and give your body what it needs.
Looking in the fridge I saw eggs, ok, I can fry a couple of eggs but what can I do to make them tastier?
I had spinach and goat cheese, Perfect!!
I added my new favorite seasoning, lemon pepper from Penzey's, and made a lunch I was glad I fixed. It was good for me and delicious.
What is your favorite way to eat eggs?
The human form was designed to be healthy. Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually.

It's starting to get chilly here with the leaves turning into a color palette of reds, and golds. Our farmers' markets are overflowing with pumpkins, squash and all types of gourds.
This is when I start wanting soup! I could eat soup every week but the fall makes me want thick hardy soups.
